Some common risk factors of heart disease include high blood pressure, smoking and high cholesterol—but did you know there are warning signs that can appear on your skin? These include yellow-orange waxy growths or clusters of waxy bumps that suddenly appear, usually on  the backs of the lower leg, corner of the eye or in the lines of your palms. These growths are deposits of cholesterol that build up under your skin. You can also look for red or purple lines under the fingernails or nails that curve downward.
