The LSU Cybersecurity Clinic on Friday will host a free seminar on ransomware for members of Louisiana’s small business community.

The “Ransomware Reality” seminar aims to help small businesses strengthen their understanding of ransomware and enhance their cybersecurity posture.

Aisha Ali-Gombe, director of the LSU Cybersecurity Clinic, tells Daily Report that the seminar will provide participating businesses with “actionable insights” that will help them defend against ransomware attacks.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Case studies on real-world ransomware incidents
  • How ransomware infects businesses and spreads laterally
  • Practical ransomware protection strategies

Participating businesses will also have the opportunity to take a Ransomware Readiness Assessment that can help them evaluate their preparedness and identify areas in need of improvement.

The seminar, presented in partnership with the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at LSU, will take place on Friday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in room 1800 of LSU’s Business Education Complex. Prospective participants can register here.
