“I’m not a bell ringer,” Regions Bank Market Executive Amy Province says. “I strive to do my best and to win, but I also don’t have to ring the bell and say, ‘Look at me.’”
Measured and soft spoken, Province has led Regions Bank’s operations for Baton Rouge and the surrounding area since 2022. She’s known as a thoughtful tactician, keeping a sharp eye on market trends to help her corporate and municipal clients meet their goals.
Birmingham, Alabama-based Regions operates in 16 states and has the fourth-largest market share in Greater Baton Rouge with a 7.2% penetration.
“[That means] we have 92% opportunity to grow and help lead healthy financial futures for businesses and consumers in our market,” Province says.

Her affinity for numbers goes way back. A Springfield native and the first in her immediate family to go to college, Province graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in finance. She worked as a teller throughout college, where she came to see the intrinsic value of the local bank to the community.
“I think that really set the foundation for learning how to serve others and be helpful in providing a service or a solution,” she says.
Province embarked on a banking career straight out of college, accepting a position in Regions Bank’s credit department. She quickly advanced into portfolio management, and within 18 months of her start date was an official banker.
Working directly with customers, Province saw the importance of listening and deepening client relationships in order to be a better adviser and partner.
“All banks offer basically the same lineup menu of services, but the thing that differentiates a banker is their ability to connect with the client, understand their needs and provide solutions and advice,” she says. “I really learned that early in my career—how important it was to develop those relationships and earn my value.”
Province would later leave Regions for an opportunity with a small community bank but returned when then-Baton Rouge market executive Danny Montelaro recruited her back. Province says returning to Regions held more robust opportunities for advancement.
Opportunity quickly knocked. Montelaro retired shortly after her return, and Province was asked to take over the area presidency. She has continued to serve as a portfolio manager to her existing clients, while also leading the bank’s operations, which include a team of 215 employees, and commercial, retail, consumer, private wealth and mortgage lines of business.
It may surprise Capital Region traffic-fatigued residents to know that Province continues to live in Springfield. It’s where she and her husband have chosen to raise their two young children. Province says she can’t let go of its small-town charm. The commute is just another part of her day—one usually filled with work calls. The goal is to extract every ounce of productivity she can before shifting into mom mode.
“My car doubles as an office,” she says.
Province is a strong believer in community service, and encourages Regions associates to get involved in volunteerism or board work based on their personal passions. For her, that has meant serving on the boards of numerous local nonprofits, including Life of a Single Mom, the Manship Theatre and the YMCA of the Capital Area, where she currently serves as board chair.
It might sound like canned sentiment, she says, but Regions Bank has a mission to make life better for the communities it serves.
“As market executive, it’s personal to me,” she says. “Our focus is to remove barriers to success and to help more people succeed and thrive.”
