    To the polls: St. George’s emergency meeting Thursday resulted in a unanimous vote to set a Dec. 7 election allowing St. George to take control of a 2% sales tax. The meeting followed another emergency meeting held Monday where the St. George Transition District voted to request that the East Baton Rouge government transfer 2% of sales tax revenue. If the tax transfer is approved, St. George could land nearly $50 million in sales tax from East Baton Rouge. Read more from WBRZ-TV. 

    Rap album released: LSU standout women’s basketball player Flau’jae Johnson has released her debut album, Best of Both Worlds. The nine-track release includes a feature from Lil Wayne on “Came Out A Beast.” Johnson references her national championship win, teammate Angel Reese, and former LSU football star Joe Burrow in the song.     Static: U.S. monthly inflation was unchanged in May as a modest increase in the cost of services was offset by the largest drop in goods prices in six months, which could draw the Federal Reserve closer to start cutting interest rates later this year.
