    Cutting costs: Ride-hailing company Lyft says it will cut 1% of its workforce as it restructures its bikes and scooters operation. The company said the move will reduce its operating costs as it focuses resources on its core business. Read more from The Wall Street Journal. 

    Record wagering: U.S. adults will wager $35 billion this NFL season, according to projections from the American Gaming Association. That would mark more than 30% growth over the $26.7 billion Americans wagered on NFL games last season, according to the AGA, and would set a record. Read more from CNBC. 

    Food desert: The Scotlandville Food Access Commission is aiming to recruit a grocery to Scotlandville within the next two years. According to the group, Scotlandville residents spend about $14 million a year on groceries outside of their community. Read more from WAFB-TV.
