Roundup: Chase Bank fire / Free speech rankings / Weather update


    Bank collision: A vehicle exploded and caught fire Friday after crashing into a bank on Airline Highway. Emergency officials say the person who drove into the Chase Bank at the corner of Airline Highway and Greenwell Street was killed, while three other people who inside the bank at the time of the crash were brought to the hospital with injuries.     Free speech zone: LSU and Tulane University scored near the bottom in the latest college free speech rankings. LSU finished 199th out of 251 colleges and universities with an overall uninhibited expression score of just over 39 of a possible 100, while Tulane ranked at 217th with an overall score of around 36. Of the categories considered in the ranking, LSU scored worst in the openness ranking, which is a measure of students’ ability to have difficult conversations on campus.     Be prepared: A flood watch is in effect in South Louisiana, including most of the Capital Region, through 7 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service, as showers and thunderstorms are forecasted to continue through the night.
