    Money from food companies: The level of political donations from major food companies accepted by Democratic lawmakers has ticked higher this congressional election cycle, even as many Democrats have accused the top U.S. grocery chains and their suppliers of pushing prices higher at consumers’ expense, a Reuters analysis of Federal Election Commission data shows.     Sales dip: Auction sales of classic cars are dipping, with a shift from older to newer cars leaving a pileup of unsold classics from the 1950s and 1960s. Auction sales during Monterey Car Week fell 3% from last year. Total sales at this year’s five car auctioneers in Monterey, California, fell to $391.6 million this year from $403 million in 2023, according to Hagerty, the classic-car insurance company.
