After initially opening as the Donut Shop on Florida Boulevard in 1969, Mary Lee Donuts has grown over the last five decades to include 22 locations across southeast Louisiana.
The latest episode of 225 magazine’s ”Between the Lines” takes a deep dive into the history of the famous business and shows how the breakfast treats are made at Mary Lee’s original location on Florida Boulevard.
The brand’s latest opening was in Ponchatoula in 2022, and while each store has its own feel, every shop is family-owned.
