A look inside the newly opened Blue Iguana Taco Bar & Tequila

    Blue Iguana Taco Bar & Tequila opened its doors last month on South Sherwood Forest Boulevard, introducing the modern Mexican chain to the Capital Region, 225 reports. 

    The spot was previously home to 225 Crab, but part-owner Alejandro Oseguera says the team wanted to try something new with the space. He co-owns the restaurant with Jorge Oseguera and Ruben Chavez, who also owns El Paso Mexican Grill.

    The team updated the restaurant’s logo and essentially gave Mexican artist Ricardo Barreiro Guzmán creative freedom for the restaurant’s art pieces. 

    “(It’s) simple but yet elegant,“ Oseguera says.

    This is Blue Iguana’s first restaurant in southeast Louisiana. The restaurant also has locations in Lake Charles, Eunice and Destin, Florida.
