FUEL partnership targets the next generation of Louisiana’s energy workforce

Future Use of Energy in Louisiana, or FUEL, in partnership with the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry and YouthForce NOLA, has announced a three-year partnership focused on expanding career pathways and work-based learning opportunities for Louisiana students.

The partnership aims to connect students with energy employers and provide meaningful experiences that help them understand the many career opportunities available in Louisiana’s energy industry.

The LABI Foundation will work with energy employers and industry partners to strengthen the state’s future energy talent pipeline by expanding opportunities such as internships, mentorships, student outreach and networking events. These experiences will give high school students meaningful, industry-connected career exposure.

YouthForce NOLA will work with school districts and communities to increase access to work-based learning opportunities, industry-based credentials and energy sector career exploration while strengthening connections between education and industry.

FUEL emphasizes that Louisiana’s energy industry offers multiple pathways for lifelong learning and wealth generation, as well as opportunities to contribute to next-generation energy innovations.

The partnership will also help businesses develop the skilled workforce they need to grow while giving students opportunities to develop the technical and soft skills needed for careers in the energy industry.
