D1 Training, a national athletic training facility business, on Monday opened its first Baton Rouge location.
There are currently two other D1 Training facilities in Louisiana, one in Covington and one in Elmwood. The new Baton Rouge facility is at 6401 Bluebonnet Blvd.
D1 Training offers “science-backed” training regimens to both youth and adult athletes. Four age-based programs are offered, including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult.
The company boasts that it has trained over 100 NFL draft picks and was once named one of the top 30 gyms in the nation by Men’s Health.
The Baton Rouge location is owned by husband-and-wife franchisees Scott and Courtney Ostrow.
According to a statement, the Ostrows “share a lifelong passion for fitness” and became interested in owning a D1 Training franchise after witnessing how the company “ignited the athletic potential” of their son, who trained at a D1 Training facility in Arizona.
“With our new location, we aim to help people reach their fitness goals but also give them a close-knit community of like-minded people looking to become their best selves,” a statement from the Ostrows reads.
D1 Training has over 100 athletic training facilities spread across the country, and over 100 additional facilities are currently in various stages of development.
