    State budget deficit: With Louisiana facing potential budget deficits in the hundreds of millions in the next few years, legislators last week met to look at ways to save money through health care service reductions. Read the full story from The Center Square. 

    Membership costs rise: Costco has raised its membership prices for the first time since 2017. The price increase went into effect on Sunday. An annual membership went from $60 to $65, and the executive membership rose from $120 to $130. The changes will impact about 52 million memberships. Read more from WAFB-TV

    For the hunters: A variety of hunting supplies will be eligible for tax exemptions this weekend in Louisiana. Consumer purchases of certain firearms, ammunition and other supplies are exempt from local and state taxes from Friday through Sunday during the 2nd Amendment Weekend Sales Tax Holiday.
