Education

Thomas E. Anderson was named director of Development for LSU’s Stephenson Disaster Management Institute. Anderson previously served as COO of First Responder Systems and Technology, a developer of software used to provide emergency response agencies with information to help coordinate the efforts of workers during disaster recovery.

Communications and Media

Will Hinson joined Cox Greater Louisiana as director, public affairs. In his new role, Hinson will be responsible for directing all public affairs staff and functions including community and media outreach, internal and external communications and crisis management communications. Hinson previously served at Georgia Gulf Corporation, where he led the regional and national public and government affairs efforts for 18 years.

Financial and Insurance

Yolanda Dotson was named vice president of human resources for Neighbors Federal Credit Union. Dotson, who joined Neighbors in 2007, previously served as its senior human resources generalist.

Gavin Filasek, a financial representative with the Smith Group of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, was appointed college unit director in the Baton Rouge area. Filasek’s responsibilities include recruiting, training and mentoring interns and representatives while still providing clients with the financial services solutions.

Jared Gary joined Omni Bank as a senior vice president and mortgage lending administrator. Gary has more than 17 years’ experience in mortgage administration and management.

Steve Stein was named community market president for Hancock Bank. Stein is responsible for strengthening the company’s business banking relationships in Baker, Zachary, Central, St. Francisville and Livingston Parish and will manage Hancock’s Baton Rouge business bankers. Stein joined Hancock Bank in 1994 during the company’s merger with First State Bank in Baker.

Lisa M. Thompson joined Business First Bank as assistant vice president, cash management manager, retail banking. Thompson previously served in the role of treasury management officer. She also gained experience as operations specialist and customer service area with Alliance Bank before its acquisition by IberiaBank.

Health Care

Paul Murphree was named medical director of patient safety and quality at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Murphree previously served as chief medical information officer.

Richard Vath was named vice president of medical affairs at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Vath previously served as medical director of patient safety. Vath is board certified in internal, pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Industry

Linda E. Cummings was named director of toxicological services for Toxicological and Environmental Associates. Cummings, who has more than 15 years’ experience as an environmental professional, will be responsible for human health and ecological risk assessments, environmental toxicology, regulatory compliance and litigation support. Cummings previously served as a client program manager for Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure.

William D. Eglin was named controller at IEM. Eglin previously served as the CFO and CEO of MD Technologies of Baton Rouge. He will oversee accounting and other corporate-level business systems as well as lead the development and implementation of new and innovative business processes.

Maureen Miller was named director of operations for Whataburger’s Southeast region. Miller will oversee more than 30 restaurants in Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida. She previously served as director of operations.

Johann R. Manning Jr. was named senior vice president and general counsel for Central Parking System. Manning previously served as president and CEO of Wolverine Tube, the largest North American producer of copper and copper alloy tubing.

Technology

Jim Mack was named CEO of PreSonus Audio Electronics. Mack previously served as vice president, sales and business development for SaneWave. His previous positions include general manager for TASCAM’s USA operations and vice president, sales and marketing for Alesis.

Paul McCown was named COO of TraceSecurity. McCown previously served as chief financial officer. His additional duties include overseeing the company’s day-to-day operating activities of the renewals team and the delivery organization.

Jim Stickley was named vice president of strategy and solutions for TraceSecurity. Stickley previously served as chief technology officer. He will be responsible for expanding the company’s solutions portfolio, leading thought leadership initiatives and establishing product strategies.
