    Roundup: LSU provost / AT&T earnings / Climate change 


    Departing: LSU Provost Roy Haggerty, the highest ranking academic administrator on campus, is leaving his position with the university. He is the third high-profile departure from the university this year. LSU Board of Supervisors member Rémy Starns confirmed Wednesday to Louisiana Illuminator that Haggerty will soon exit.     Higher than expected: AT&T logged higher profit and revenue in the first quarter, partly because of an increase in acquired customers and a spur of upgrades in response to tariffs. “Upgrades have trended higher than expected since the announcement of the reciprocal tariffs in early April, which we believe triggered an acceleration in consumer upgrade behavior,” Chief Financial Officer Pascal Desroches said on an earnings call.     Damage estimates: The world’s largest corporations have caused $28 trillion in climate damage, a new study estimates. A Dartmouth College research team came up with the estimated pollution caused by 111 companies, with more than half of the total dollar figure coming from 10 fossil fuel providers: Saudi Aramco, Gazprom, Chevron, ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, National Iranian Oil Co., Pemex, Coal India and the British Coal Corporation.
