The Bluffs developer Jim Tanner has been on a buying spree, purchasing six upscale homes across Baton Rouge in less than two years, including properties in exclusive neighborhoods such as Bocage Lakes and the Country Club of Louisiana.
He’s sold or traded off three of the properties, but he still owns a couple of enviable homes, including the Highland Road estate that belonged to former LSU football coach Nick Saban. There had been speculation for years that the old Saban property would be demolished to make room for an upscale subdivision, but a spokesman for Tanner says that isn’t the case. Instead, the property will undergo major renovations and become the family’s primary residence.
“They really felt like this place was home,” says Landon Petty, a spokesman for Tanner.
