Jobe's closes downtown; new tenant said to be coming soon
A longtime downtown lunch haunt, Jobe's Café, has closed its doors at 315 North Blvd. for good. The restaurant's last day in business was Monday, after its month-to-month lease was not renewed. Snappy Jacobs, who manages the property, says it was time for a change at the site and that he is "very, very close" to finalizing the details of a lease that will take up the former Jobe's space as well as the space next to it, which was formerly the Downtown Newsstand. Jacobs says together the space totals about 2,800 square feet and that his future tenant is a well-known restaurateur in this market. No specific dates are available for when the lease will be finalized or on when renovations to the site will begin. —Stephanie Riegel
