Cottages at Moss Side 'terminated'

Donnie Jarreau Companies has withdrawn plans to build a 17-lot residential development called Cottages at Moss Side between Perkins Road and Moss Side Lane, says the city-parish Planning Commission. Spokesman Ryan Holcomb says the Planning Commission received an email Sept. 25 saying the project "has been terminated." The applicant had been scheduled to go before the commission on Oct. 15. Jarreau says the development was called off for wetland mitigation issues, and that pulling it from this month's meeting had nothing to do with the design of the development itself, which called for single-family residences on less than half of the total 3.72 acreage near the west entrance of Moss Side Lane. —Adam Pearson
