Penny Clement has joined American Gateway Bank as a senior vice president and commercial lender. Clement has been in banking for 20 years and has experience in wealth management, private banking and commercial banking. She previously served as a relationship manager and senior vice president of business banking at Chase Bank in Baton Rouge.
Bobby Fahey has joined B&K Bank as Baton Rouge market president at its Bluebonnet Boulevard location. A banking professional for 25 years, he specializes in residential and commercial real estate lending and private banking. He has recently served as vice president and private banking officer at Whitney Bank in Baton Rouge.
ENERGY
Nat Usher has joined Tesla Offshore as director of geoscience. For the past 30 years, Usher has worked for ARCO/BP. He plans to assist Tesla in optimizing use of technology in geophysical survey operations.
ENVIRONMENTAL
Valerie Legé Mayhall has been named director of environmental compliance and regulatory affairs with Toxicological & Environmental Associates. Mayhall has 20 years of experience as an environmental professional and will oversee all environmental compliance and regulatory matters for TEA.
MEDIA
Launch Media, a Gulf Coast video, media and experiential event production company headquartered in Baton Rouge, has hired Blake Steger to lead business development efforts in New Orleans. Steger has worked for the past eight years as a consultant in various industries, such as media communications and medical.
Lane Regional Medical Center announces Dr. Samuel Field has joined Lane Surgery Group. He is board certified in general surgery with more than 12 years of experience, including trauma, laparoscopic gallbladder, appendix, intestine, and skin lesions.
Ochsner Health System's Dawn Pevey Mauk, who has served as chief nursing officer for the Baton Rouge region, has been appointed to serve as chairperson of the system nursing executive committee. The promotion came in conjunction with Warner Thomas assuming the title of Ochsner's president and chief executive officer.
INSURANCE
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has named Wendy Bateman to the newly created position of vice president, consumer marketing. A Louisiana native and LSU graduate, Bateman most recently worked as the director of integrated marketing at Pepperidge Farm in Norwalk, Conn. At Blue Cross, Bateman leads the company's overall consumer segmentation strategy and is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies and processes to sell individual products through the creation of new retail channels.
POLITICS
The Louisiana Democratic Party, after a national search, has chosen Stephen Handwerk to serve as executive director. Handwerk has more than 20 years' experience in working on national, state and local levels, including as co-chair of the National Stonewall Democrats. He is also a member of the Lafayette Parish Democratic Executive Committee.
PUBLIC SECTOR
David Constant has been named head of LSU's Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, a joint position shared between the AgCenter and the College of Engineering. Constant, who was most recently dean of the LSU Graduate School, has been on the LSU faculty since 1984. He holds the Humphreys T. Turner Professorship in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and has served as associate dean and then interim dean in the College of Engineering.
LSU's College of Engineering has promoted Heather Herman to be the director of strategic partnerships, providing leadership on the development, implementation and monitoring of the college's five-year strategic plan. In her new role, Herman will serve as the principal strategic adviser to the dean and the academic and operations leadership teams.
LSU Health has appointed?Michael Kaiser as the interim CEO of the LSU Health Care Services Division, replacing Roxane Townsend. Kim Sangari has been appointed interim CEO of Earl K. Long Medical Center. John Couk has been appointed associate medical director of the LSU Health Care Services Division. Kaiser will also continue in the role of the chief medical officer of the LSU HCSD, where he directs systemwide population management and the redesign of clinical services in the seven HCSD hospitals.
REAL ESTATE
Barbara Shelton has been named director of residential operations of Gardner Realtors. Shelton will be responsible for supporting sales associates and leading branch managers in all 24 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi. Shelton has 23 years of real estate experience, including 11 with Gardner Realtors.
TECHNOLOGY
Kelli LaRose has been promoted from senior accountant to accounting manager of PreSonus. LaRose has 10 years of experience in corporate and public accounting.
Andy Rowe has been promoted to accounting controller for PreSonus. He previously served as accounting manager. PreSonus is a designer and manufacturer of audio-recording software, hardware and related accessories.
