MEDICAL
Dr. Dudley Atkinson has joined Ochsner's urology department in Baton Rouge. Atkinson graduated from LSU in petroleum engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy as submarine commander and retired as a lieutenant commander. He graduated from the Tulane University School of Medicine and trained in the LSU/Ochsner urology residency in New Orleans; he was chief resident.
Dr. Erin Dauterive has joined Ochsner's obstetrics and gynecology department in Baton Rouge. Dauterive received a degree in general studies at LSU. She graduated from the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport with the highest grade point average in her class. Dauterive completed her residency with the Ochsner Clinic Foundation.
Dr. Alexander Mulamula has joined Ochsner's pulmonary department in Baton Rouge. Mulamula received his master's of medicine and general surgery at the University of Nairobi. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C.; he served as a critical care technician and chief resident. Mulamula completed two fellowships with Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut, in pulmonary and critical care medicine and in sleep medicine.
Dr. April Erwin has joined The NeuroMedical Center. Erwin received her medical degree from the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She completed her neurology residency at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and served as the chief resident from 2010 to 2011. Erwin has a special interest in multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Samir Patel has joined The NeuroMedical Center. Patel received his medical degree from the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He completed his internal medicine internship at Earl K. Long Hospital, and completed his residency in anesthesiology at Tulane University. Patel worked as an assistant professor in the department of anesthesiology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Mary Todd was named executive director of Phi Kappa Phi, a national collegiate honor society. She is the first woman to lead the 115-year-old organization and only the 11th individual to hold the position since 1900. Todd will work with the society's board of directors to develop a strategic plan for Phi Kappa Phi. Before her appointment, Todd was founding dean of the Honors College at Marshall University.
Hannah Breaux has joined The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, serving as the society's communications specialist. Breaux will oversee a communications and outreach plan while assisting in public relations, social media, print and electronic collateral and branding.
PUBLIC SECTOR
Summer Steib was named the director of the LSU Women's Center, which promotes the advancement of women's issues and gender equity through its services, advocacy efforts and educational programs; and provides support, referral and information to students, faculty and staff on issues and concerns related to women.
