News alert: Jindal taps Barfield as Revenue Secretary; says tax reform will be top 2013 priority

Gov. Bobby Jindal has announced that Tim Barfield will serve as secretary of the Louisiana Department of Revenue beginning in October. Barfield will lead the administration's efforts to reform Louisiana's tax system, which Jindal says will be his top priority in the 2013 legislative session. Jane Smith will return to her role as deputy secretary of the Department of Revenue. Barfield currently serves as the chief development officer for Amedisys, but prior to that had served as executive counsel to Jindal and had also been executive director of the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
