LSU to host National Pro Fastpitch All-Stars

For the second consecutive season, the LSU softball team will play host to the National Pro Fastpitch All-Stars at Tiger Park. The exhibition contest will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, as part of the NPF's Back to School Tour. The NPF All-Stars will consist of players from all four of the NPF's professional teams (Akron Racers, Chicago Bandits, USSSA Florida Pride and Carolina Diamonds). The tour will make 21 stops across 16 states, including games against LSU, Oklahoma, Louisiana-Lafayette, Arizona, Michigan and Florida. The Tigers dropped a 4-1 decision against the NPF All-Stars last fall. Coach Beth Torina says this year's matchup is a great chance for the team and Baton Rouge community to be exposed to "some of the best softball in the world."
