B.R. artist to paint courtside at Final Four Friday
As the NCAA Final Four teams practice on Friday one final time before the big games on Saturday, Baton Rouge artist Christopher Turner will be courtside, capturing the excitement in a live painting. Turner's appearance is part of the NCAA's Final Four Friday, which features a host of free events—including free parking—at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Friday. From noon to 4 p.m., the teams will practice as Turner paints. Doors open at 11 a.m. "The opportunity to paint courtside while the top four teams in the nation practice is amazing. Final Four fans will give me amazing energy to feed upon—this will be truly unprecedented," Turner says. Coaches' interviews, local entertainment and giveaways—including tickets to Saturday's semifinal games and Monday's championship game—are also planned to take place during the practice sessions. The Reese's College All-Star Game will follow at 4:30 p.m., which is also free and features two teams composed of the top collegiate senior student-athletes in the country. Turner's painting will be displayed at the NCAA Hall of Champions Museum in Indianapolis. For more information on Turner, check out his website here.
