BESE candidate forum set for Thursday
Two days before the election, candidates for the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education will participate in a forum: from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Star Hill Baptist Church, 1400 North Foster Drive. Sharon Weston-Broome, Louisiana State Senate president pro tempore, will serve as the forum facilitator. Organizers have invited candidates from each of the eight elected BESE districts. Candidate confirmations are being logged at the Louisiana Black Alliance for Educational Options website here. You can also submit potential questions for the forum at the website. Along with BAEO, sponsors include the Baton Rouge branch of the NAACP, the United Negro College Fund, the National Black Home Educators Association and the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools.
